Laurel Twist & Co. 2019 Mother's Day Gift Guide

This past Christmas, I made it a personal goal to shop small for as many gifts as possible. Of course, I’m guilty of a few of those last minute Amazon Prime orders, too, but I was pleasantly surprised at how attainable this goal was! Austin makes it especially easy with the abundance of Holiday Markets and Craft Shows around town starting in November.

I’ve rounded up some Mother’s Day gift ideas from a few of my favorite woman-owned small businesses to hopefully inspire you to shop small and find something meaningful for the mamas in your life.

  1. Candelles Candles Candelles quickly became one of my favorite candle brands when I discovered them last fall. Candelles candles are non-toxic, eco-friendly, and GMO-free. Their candles are made simply: with all natural, U.S grown soy wax, phthalate-free fragrance oils, and lead-free cotton wicks.

  2. Home is where the Mama is shirt from Modern Burlap Isn’t that the truth, though? Currently, all proceeds from this tee go to @juliavalean who recently lost her daughter, Evy, to cancer.

  3. Cake by Courtney Subscription  Perfect for that mama you know who loves to experiment in the kitchen (when she can find the time!) but is always missing an ingredient.

  4. I love barre so much tank  Do you know a mom who also happens to love barre? I could sure name a few! I think it’s basically science at this point that cute workout gear motivates you to work out.

  5. Laurel Twist & Co. Card Of course, don’t forget the card :) A handwritten note can go a long way, even as a standalone gift if you are short funds or time! We offer Mother’s Day Cards for moms, sisters, friends...you name it!

  6. Le Papier Studio necklace I could see a silhouette necklace from Le Papier studio easily becoming a family heirloom. Submit a photo of your loved one and they’ll create a custom silhouette. Unfortunately, the date has passed for ordering in time for this Mother’s Day, but I can’t be the only one who wraps up photos of gifts that are in the mail on their way…..right?!

  7. Bracelets from Laurel Denise Browse the collection of inspirational leather bracelets to find the one that perfectly describes mom, or maybe one that offers words of encouragement to a new mom you know.

  8. Paper Craft Pantry Plant Picks Okay, some of us just have plants (and dogs) for babies, but plenty of moms also have green thumbs. These plant picks give your favorite fronds some attitude. Paper Craft Pantry also hosts some of the most popular DIY workshops in town, often complete with sips and treats. Maybe pair your plant picks with a gift card so mom can choose a workshop that is perfect for her!

  9. Valerie Woerner: Grumpy Mom Takes a Vacation This book could be just what a mom needs to hear.
